PETALING JAYA: PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin has warned elected representatives not to forget their allegiance to the party or risk expulsion if they express support for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
This comes after Bukit Gantang MP Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal claimed that seven or eight more Perikatan Nasional MPs would declare their support for Anwar in the near future, without specifying if they were from PAS or Bersatu.
“Of course, they will be dismissed from the party, they won’t be considered to be representing PAS in Parliament, but if they do it, they will automatically be dismissed,” Hashim told FMT.
“To our honourable members, we have pledged allegiance in the name of God, hence we are not accountable only to the president or the central committee, we are accountable to God.
“We will face God to be judged for our actions. Speaking in front of God is formidable because He knows our intentions when we do things.”
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said Syed Hussin’s allegations were “only aimed at attracting the government’s attention”.
“He (Syed Hussin) has no value. It is not worthwhile to declare support for Anwar in the House,” he said. - FMT
