- Malaysia's number one issue is rising cost of living
- Prices surging, taxes, utilities, transport increasing, income falling
- B40, M40 consumers pain is very real
- getting worse each passing day
- What is needed are structural reforms
- especially removal of monopolies which distort prices, disrupt supply chains
- madani criticised rice monopoly but just for show, rice monopoly remains
- price of rice higher than neighbouring countries
- people growing increasingly disenchanted
- gomen needs to listen to people who really know how to get things done
- like Ameer Ali Mydin, Managing Director of the MYDIN supermarkets
- politicians think they know better than everyone else
- politicians are quick with dumb answers
- increase water tariffs is “good investment”
- we have lowest inflation rates in the region
- consumers eating out too often
- madani loves appointing committees and advisers
- appointed another committee on cost of living
- 2 finance ministers, econ minister, minister of food security cant deliver
- five economic advisers, Council on Cost of Living (Naccol), MTEN
- Are they all clueless?
- committees, advisers, gimmicks no substitute for sound policies
- committees and advisors pure political theatre, empty gestures
- making gomen look inept and completely clueless
My Comments : Those of you who have been following my blog (thank you) may recall me saying that the clueless people will just keep driving their cars around aimlessly until they run out of fuel and their cars come to a stop. They will then get down from their stalled cars and start wondering "What happened? Why has my car stopped? What do I do now?" This seems to be happening in Malaysia. Not to everyone but to a significant portion of the population. Anyone wants to venture a guess as to who that might be?
With the gomen everything is indeed a gimmick. There are no serious policy initiatives. The gimmicks that were laid down by Tun Razak and gang over 50 years ago are still in play today. Screwing up the education system, gomen interference in everything, the mismanagement, the dont-know-what-to-do, the food insufficiency and food insecurity for the past 67 years. No change. Just bungling along. Another day another gimmick. Another committee.
