The Yang di-Pertuan Agong today gifted MACC chief Azam Baki a container of honey, to symbolise the end of the monarch’s “honeymoon” period.
The gift also came with an order.
“As I have stressed before, my honeymoon is over. Now go catch the bees,” Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar told Azam.
The exchange was relayed in a posting on the Agong’s Facebook.
His Majesty had expressed an interest to see a crackdown on corruption during his reign.
Before becoming king, the monarch had also expressed an interest for the MACC to report directly to him.
This, he argued, would ensure that the graftbuster would be free from influence from the executive. - Mkini
