Perikatan Nasional will decide on the candidate for the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat by-election through a supreme council meeting at 5pm this Monday.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the meeting will be held in Selangor.
“The credibility of the candidate to be selected will also be discussed later at the meeting.
“The candidate who will be selected will be a worthy individual who has a chance to win the hearts of voters in the area,” he told reporters, according to a report by Berita Harian.
The media previously reported that PN has not yet finalised its candidate selection despite having received a list of candidates.
Bersatu information chief Razali Idris has said his party already has a list of proposed candidates for the by-election.
The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election will be held on May 11 following the death of three-term assemblyperson Lee Kee Hiong on March 21.
Nomination of candidates for the by-election will be held on April 27, while early voting is set for May 7.
The seat comprises 18 percent Indian voters. Malay voters make up 46 percent, Chinese (31 percent), followed by others (five percent). - Mkini
