KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, conducted an aerial inspection of Mersing in Johor today in his personal Sikorsky helicopter.

Sultan Ibrahim, who is Sultan of Johor, took off from Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru and landed at Istana Flintstones. In his 40-minute aerial survey, he inspected Mersing’s coastal areas, Kem Iskandar, Istana Flintstones and its lighthouse.

Sultan Ibrahim reminded resort owners and villagers in Mersing, a tourism district rich in natural beauty, to maintain cleanliness of the islands.

“Don’t be surprised as I will conduct surprise patrols in villages and islands in Mersing,” he said, according to the Johor royal press office.

He inspected Kem Iskandar’s boat facility and discovered that the combat training diving pool was not fully completed. It should have been handed over to the 21st Special Service Group in December 2022 but he was informed that “the relevant party requested an extension six times”. - FMT
