KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) has submitted documents related to amendments to its constitution and leadership changes under Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) on Monday.
Its director-general, Datuk Mohd Zulfikar Ahmad, said RoS is currently reviewing the documents before making any decision, including on the party's eligibility to join PN.
"In accordance with the Societies Act 1966 (Act 832), every application and document received must undergo a detailed review and assessment process to ensure compliance with the law and PCM's constitution.
"If there is a need for further clarification or additional documents, PCM will be asked to provide the relevant information to complete the review process.
"Any decision will be communicated according to the prescribed procedures," he told BH today.
Previously, an emergency meeting of the PN Supreme Council decided to accept two new component parties into the coalition — Pejuang and Wawasan, formerly known as PCM.
However, Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was reported to have objected to Wawasan's admission into PN, claiming the process was not properly carried out.
At the same time, Mohd Zulfikar said RoS also wished to clarify that the use of any political party logo by a registered organisation can only be made after obtaining approval from the department.
He said this is in line with the provisions of Act 832 and the relevant regulations in force.
"However, the use of such logos for election purposes is subject to the consideration, conditions and jurisdiction of the Election Commission (EC), based on the relevant legal provisions.
"RoS remains committed to carrying out its functions and responsibilities professionally, transparently, fairly and with integrity, in accordance with the laws in force," he said.
He added that any consideration and decision on the matter would be made based on facts, documents and relevant legal provisions, without being influenced by any interest or party. - NST
