The Inspector-General of Police had collapsed on Friday morning during the monthly police assembly in the Bukit Aman police headquarters.
According to a police spokesman today, the 58-year-old Ismail is still on medical leave for further recovery and will only resume his duties later in the week.
The Kulim-born Ismail was appointed IGP on September 13 last year, succeeding Tan Sri Musa Hassan.
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 — Tan Sri Ismail Omar was today discharged from the Pantai Medical Centre here, following his hospitalisation on Friday due to exhaustion.
