As PKR de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's judgement day in the sodomy trial draws nearer, PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (pic) has reminded of another judgement day - the one that awaits everyone in the Hereafter.
Saying there are several groups of opinions in the run up to the conclusion of Anwar's trial, of which a guilty verdict has been almost a foregone conclusion by many an analyst, Tuan Ibrahim said a large group of people felt that Anwar would be sent back behind bars.
"For if not for that, why else was the trial continued despite weaknesses in the (prosecution) case from the start which could render the case to be thrown out?" said Tuan Ibrahim in describing the first category of people who he said formed the majority.
They are among several groups of people who he said had turned into 'soothsayers' by offering their predictions of what would happen on January 9.
A small group of people form the second category, according to the Pahang PAS commissioner, and they think that Anwar will be acquitted due to holes in the prosecution's arguments throughout the trial.
Yet a third group, said Tuan Ibrahim, is made of those who would like to depict Anwar as immoral, and believing that consensual sodomy did indeed take place, they feel he would escape a guilty verdict because the charge sheet says that Saiful Bukhari Azlan was forced into committing homosexual intercourse.
Whatever the assumption, Tuan Ibrahim reminded that man's judgement in the temporal world paled in comparison with divine retribution meted out in the Hereafter.
"What is certain is that in the Hereafter, every one among us would be judged again with a judgement most just by Allah. So always indulge in His remembrance," advised Tuan Ibrahim.
