KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 5 — Government technology adviser Mimos Berhad will not be used to verify the authenticity of the electoral rolls contrary to the suggestion by a parliamentary select committee (PSC), PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar said today.
Early last month, the PSC on electoral reforms called for an immediate audit of the rolls and suggested that Mimos go through the electoral rolls and verify the authenticity of entries as part of efforts to clean up the system.
“We were just informed by the director of the Election Commission that Mimos will not be used to verify the authenticity of entries in the electoral roll,” Nurul Izzah (picture)told a press conference here.
“This suggestion by the PSC for Mimos as a verification body has been rejected,” she said.
