Besides local and foreign media, the police were also providing live coverage for its audience on the "901 free Anwar" rally this morning, in an effort to counter public criticism and perception towards the enforcement team.
It is believed that this unprecedented move is to shed the image that police have been hiding, if not distorting, facts of their conduct in handling anti-establishment rallies.
The Twitter page showed pictures of participants unfurling banners and opposition leaders giving speeches, which it pointed out were in violation of the rally conditions set out by the police.
Gimmicks by the participants to show solidarity with Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim such as costumes of Justice Pao - a symbol of justice in China, and Anwar's face mask were also reported by the police.
Besides photographs, visual recordings of the rally including a speech by former Perak Menteri Besar Nizar Jamaluddin, were uploaded to a Youtube channel.
Among others, a video claimed that a participant was found to carry a dangerous weapon at the rally.
The 26-second recording showed a Malay male with Anwar's face mask carrying a sword-like object on his waist.
