Foul-mouthed rep gets what he got coming

What goes around comes around, PKR’s Ravi tells an Umno man who knows a dirty word in Tamil.
SEREMBAN: “Just a little old fashioned karma coming down,” says Willie Nelson in one of his songs. Had Umno’s Zainal Abidin Ahmad heeded the singer’s message, he might have avoided being hit in the face with the Tamil word for vagina.
According to yesterday’s Negeri Sembilan edition of Sinar Harian, the state assemblyman for Sungai Lui was offended by the “P” word, now that a young man has used it to deface his Facebook.
But he was not blushing when he brandished the same word in November 2009 and April 2011 in the August hall of the state assembly. FMT reported both incidents.
Commenting on the Sinar Harian interview with Zainal Abidin, Port Dickson state assemblymen M Ravi of PKR said he had it coming.
“I’m not condoning the young man’s action,” he told FMT, “I’m just saying I believe in the law of karma. What you do unto others comes back at you.”
Ravi was in fact the target of Zainal Abidin’s P-word abuse in 2009. In the midst of a heated argument about broken promises made to estate workers, he yelled out the word as a substitute for Ravi’s name and made the motion of hurling a bottle at him.
In the second incident, he used it to insult DAP’s Teo Kok Seong, the state assemblyman for Bahau, during an argument about policies that affect race relations. Ravi got into the fray again, saying his use of the P-word humiliated Indians and women.
Zainal Abidin told Sinar Harian he would have taken legal action over the outrage in his Facebook if the culprit had not openly apologised.
Ravi said the Umno man had no moral ground to stand on to criticise the young man.
“Probably the youth read about his behaviour in the state assembly,” he said. “I would advise Zainal Abidin to stop seeking cheap publicity. If you can humiliate people with vulgar words, then you have to be able to take the same medicine.”
