He said the investigation, prompted by 46 police reports, into the Twitter message by Mohammad Nizar allegedly on the successful RM520,000 bid by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, for the vehicle registration number WWW 1 was almost complete.
“In their investigation, the police recorded 46 statements and will send the papers to the deputy public prosecutor soon,” he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters, here.
Mohammad Nizar, who is the MP for Bukit Gantang and state assemblyman for Pasir Panjang, had his statement recorded by two police officers from the Johor Baharu Utara district police headquarters at the Perak PAS office in Ipoh on June 6 in the investigation under the Sedition Act.
On another matter, Mohd Mokhtar said police were monitoring two small groups believed to be involved in gambling on the ongoing Euro 2012 football tournament.
He said the groups were constantly on the move to avoid detection of their operation. — Bernama
