Hisham blames Pakatan for political violences

The Home Minister suggests that Pakatan Rakyat had been taunting and provoking BN supporters, resulting in the increase in the number of political violences in the country.
BATU CAVES: Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein today blamed Pakatan Rakyat for the recent violences affecting political ceramahs – interestingly mostly at Pakatan ceramahs, saying that they were disrupting the democratic process.
Hishammuddin, while admitting that the country was witnessing worsening political violences ahead of the general election, accused the opposition as the perpetrator.
“They claim they champion for democracy and freedom, but they are the ones disrupting the  democratic process by saying all the nonsense, calling the police names although the police also protect their security.
“Maybe they do this to incite anger, to provoke reactions from the BN Youth.
“These are easy to do, but definitely not politics that unite people,” he told reporters after launching the Gombak BN Youth machinery here today, suggesting that the violences at Pakatan ceramahs were due to provocations from them (Pakatan) towards Barisan Nasional supporters.
Hishammuddin’s comment came after several individuals were arrested today in Kota Kinabalu for attempting to attack a PKR campaign bus.
Last night, a group of motocyclists also disrupted a PKR ceramah in Simpang Renggam, Johor.
“But  the number of policemen on the ground is never enough, hence volunteer corps such as Rela and Malaysia Civil Defense Department play an important role.
“Election Commission also need to have a focus group to look into this. What I believe they should be doing now is to co-operate to ensure the election process is adhered accordingly,” he said.
The launching of the BN marchinery saw the attendance of some 2,000 people, many of them waving BN flags and chanting: “Gombak gempur”.
Gombak is currently held by PKR through its deputy president Azmin Ali.
