Pemandu Says Ministry Of Sports To Sort Out Toll Hike !!

Folks here is an addendum to that email letter I received from Pemandu. First here is that short letter :

Dear Tuan Syed Akbar,

It was brought to my attention the blog posting by your good self. The link is pasted below:

I wish to clarify on behalf of PEMANDU and the Malaysian Government that the article which states that we will be paying consultancy fee amounting RM6 million is absolutely false.

The workshop which is planned to be held at the end of this year will be facilitated by PEMANDU.

We will work alongside the main government stakeholders namely MoF and KBS amongst others. There is absolutely no consultant involvement for this workshop / labs.

We hope that this matter can be rectified by stating the correct facts. Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

Best regards,
Izhar Moslim
Principal Private Secretary to YB Senator Dato' Sri Idris Jala
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and CEO of PEMANDU

I actually missed this part "We will work alongside the main government stakeholders namely MoF and KBS amongst others".

So Pemandu will work with MoF (Ministry of Finance) and KBS??

Kementerian Belia & Sukan? What does the Kementerian Belia & Sukan have to do with toll hikes? Do they have the expertise to handle toll hikes?

Other than match fixing Malaysian football is now at par (or below par) with Bangladesh.  Here is the very latest news :
  • Life bans handed out in Malaysia match-fixing case
  • REUTERS - Five players and three team officials from a Malaysian lower league soccer club have been handed life bans after being found guilty of match-fixing
  • fined 20,000 Malaysian Ringgit by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM)

There is no substantial sports based economic activity in Malaysia. How many new jobs or how many high tech jobs (high income remember?) does sports create every year in Malaysia?

I say this because in other countries sports activities are major economic generators (sports venue revenue, sports advertising, sports equipment manufacturing,  sports medicine,  sports broadcasting, publishing, private sports training and coaching jobs, private sports institutes, sports tourism - trail bikes (motorised and pedal), world class off roading - we have the best terrain in the world and many, many more).

Instead we are at the bottom of the pit in almost any competitive sports.

And now these folks who are such underachievers in managing national sports are going to be asked to help sort out the toll hike issues?
