Leaked SPM question papers warrants a re-examination to restore public trust, demands parliamentarian
He said this in response to allegations that question papers of up to six SPM subjects, namely mathematics, history, additional mathematics, chemistry, biology and science were leaked beforehand last month.
A private tutor in Kuala Lumpur and another in Sabah have been accused of leaking the questions, which prompted the Education Ministry to setup a task force for investigations.
Wong said a re-examination would not cause any prejudice to the students because those who are really competent in the subjects would still achieve good results.
“For those who are lazy, we give them another chance to study hard,” he said.
Kampar MP G Manivannan claimed that the KL tutor is a repeat offender on the matter but has been let off the hook.
He claimed that the tutor is from Setiawangsa and has used mosques as venue to leak out the question papers.
