Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak yesterday announced dividend payment totalling RM72.9 million by Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad (FGVH).
All 112,635 Felda settlers nationwide will receive RM647.78 each. The final dividend involves 10 sen per share to be paid via a trust fund on July 11.
Felda also set aside RM30.5 million for distribution as 'duit raya' to the settlers.
"We will give RM300 to each family to ease their financial burden and to make preparation for Aidilfirtri," he said when breaking fast with Felda settlers, in Kuala Terengganu yesterday.
Najib also handed commercial tithe payment totalling RM22.02 million on behalf of Felda Group.
It was for profit recorded in financial year 2013 by FGVH (RM8.6 million), Koperasi Permodalan Felda (RM12.8 million), Felda D'Saji (RM321,200) and Koperasi Kakitangan Felda Malaysia Berhad (RM297,985.97).
He also announced contribution totalling RM927,500 to mosques and mosque officials.
Also present were the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor, Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman and wife Toh Puan Harlina Zakaria, Second Education Minister Idris Jusoh, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Jailani Johari and Felda chairperson Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.
Meanwhile, Felda settlers met at the function attended by 6,000 people were grateful to the prime minister for the contributions announced.
Samsudin Othman, 62, thanked the prime minister for give financial aid so that the settlers can make preparation for Aidilfitri.
"The amount may not be big but it helps to lighten our burden," said the Felda settler from Johor.
Ismail Mohamed, 66, from Felda Neram Satu in Kemaman hopes that the Felda settlers will continue to receive benefits.
"Do not listen to rumours as it will only cause tension. We have a good government, what else are we dissatisfied about?
