The Penang Chief Minister is not setting a deadline for Opposition Leader Jahara to apologize since he “wants to give her ample time to reflect on her mistakes”.
GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has expressed shock and horror that Opposition Leader Jahara Hamid could be so callous as to accuse his Administration of building posh houses on state land acquired at a very low price and then selling them at inflated prices.
He demanded that Jahara apologize for her outrage and pointed out that the luxurious D’Residence housing project in Bayan Mutiara was in fact a BN project continued by the Penang Development Corporation (PDC).
He said that he had no idea that D’Residence houses were going for up to RM 3.5 million per unit and thanked the Opposition for bringing the matter to his attention. Nevertheless, he still wants an apology from Jahara for making him look bad and allegedly committing an unforgiveable blunder.
He’s not setting a deadline for the Opposition Leader to apologize since he “wants to give her ample time to reflect on her mistakes”.
“I didn’t even know PDC sold RM 3.5 million homes previously, until they pointed it out. I want to thank them for this,” reiterated Lim during a press conference at the Penang Assembly building here on Fri. “The project was approved before Pakatan took over the state administration.”
“The whole project was approved and built during BN’s time when Jahara was a state exco.”
He stressed that PDC only builds affordable houses under his Administration which took office in 2008.
