DBKL has announced a decision to rename several major streets in the city after the country’s many great kings.
PETALING JAYA: A circular issued by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said that several major roads in the city would be renamed after the country’s past kings.
The affected roads are Jalan Duta (Jalan Tunku Abdul Halim); Jalan Khidmat Usaha (Jalan Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah); Jalan Ipoh from Jalan Segambut to Jalan Pahang (Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah); Persiaran Duta (Persiaran Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin); Jalan Khidmat Setia and Jalan Ibadah (Jalan Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin); Lebuhraya Mahameru (Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar); Persiaran Mahameru (Persiaran Tuanku Jaafar); and Jalan Semarak (Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra).
In the circular DBKL corporate planning manager Ismail Stapa also said that signboards bearing the new names would be erected November 26.
