Any PAS member who holds a position in the party has the right to replace old leaders and nominate new ones if they feel the need to, says Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.
The PAS central committee member expressed his stand that the party leadership should change in the face of conflicting perspectives among its present guards.
"If these leaders have shown themselves to be weak, then they should be replaced. The onus is on the delegates, and it is provided for in the party's constitution," he said.
Nizar said this after opening Kuala Kedah PAS's 41st annual general meeting in Alor Star today.
He was commenting on Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob's view that Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang ought to be retained as PAS president as he had executed his responsibilities well. – Bernama
