Police and Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) officers are now at The Malaysian Insider office to investigate the portal's report on the Conference of Ruler's rejection of a proposal to amend a federal law that would pave the way for hudud to be enforced in Kelantan.
About a dozen officers from the force and the MCMC came to the portal's office, which is housed in the offices of The Edge Media Group in Petaling Jaya, at 5.52pm today.
They spent about half an hour checking an editor's computer, before proceeding to interview a few editors and a writer.
Lawyer Syahredzan Johan, who is with them, said the investigations are under Section 4 of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
