The Quran confines hudud to six types of crimes and anything else is not hudud.
She cautioned MPs that they should not accept the PAS version of Quran since it’s not in the Quran.
There were several differences between the PAS version of hudud and that in the Quran, she pointed out.
Firstly, there’s no punishment prescribed in the Quran for apostasy. “This is something created by PAS.”
Secondly, the Quran doesn’t mention stoning. “This is tantamount to creating confusion and mischief in God’s name.”
Thirdly, the Quran’s position on the cutting of limbs and crucifixion, rape and adultery differs from the Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 passed unanimously by the Kelantan Assembly on Thursday.
The Quran, stressed Latheefa, confines hudud to six types of crimes and anything else is not hudud.
