Protesters demanding to meet MACC director over Teoh Beng Hock's death, at the MACC office in Shah Alam. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Seth Akmal, March 19, 2015.Some 30 protesters were faced with half a dozen riot police and about 20 police officers at a demonstration over the death of former Selangor aide Teoh Beng Hock in front of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Shah Alam, Selangor, today.
The protesters, who included members of Teoh's family and several Pakatan Rakyat (PR) lawmakers, had gathered at 10.30am and wanted the MACC director to come down to meet them.
Things grew tense when the light strike force personnel and police officers closed in and formed a barricade between the protesters and the building.
Teoh's sister, Lee Lan, was seen breaking down in tears while negotiation with the police to let the protest continue for another 10 minutes.
Police finally agreed to her request and then left the area together with the light strike force personnel.
