Former Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief Datuk Seri Khairuddin Hassan has been warded at Hospital Kuala Lumpur with suspected dengue.
"He is currently under observation for suspected dengue. He has not been allowed visitors and I will know tomorrow if I can see him," said his lawyer Matthias Chang.
Khairuddin is under detention for 28 days under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
Khairuddin was first arrested at his home in Mont Kiara last Friday. He was rearrested on Wednesday outside the Jalan Duta Courts Complex here after his release from remand for offences detrimental to Parliamentary democracy.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim was reported saying the police would refer the matter to the deputy public prosecutor for further action after completing their investigations under Sosma.
