MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has opted to remain mum over the latest criticism against his leadership by his predecessor, Tan Sri Dr Chua Soi Lek.
“I got no time to respond to him. I will not respond,” he said at a press conference after attending his party's briefing to the grassroots on current issues at MCA's headquarters today.
Dr Chua yesterday slammed Liow for failing to transform the party.
“Liow is weak. He has avoided responding to major issues,” he was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini.
Dr Chua said the party's leadership failure to effectively counter the September 16 “red shirt” rally had hurt not only the sentiments of the Chinese, but is also another nail in MCA's coffin in terms of regaining back support.
This is not the first time Dr Chua described Liow as weak.
In 2013 when the two were embroiled in an open spat, Dr Chua described Liow, his then deputy, as “weak”, “indecisive” and “not fit” to lead the party.
