Khairuddin's lawyer to be questioned at Dang Wangi on Monday morning about 1MDB reports.
Chang, a former political secretary to Dr Mahathir, is the lawyer for Khairuddin Abu Hassan, another Mahathir supporter, who made the reports in various countries.
Khairuddin was arrested twice last week and is in custody. He was reportedly been taken to hospital with high fever, said to be possibly dengue, two days after his second arrest.
Chang had said he was supposed to be questioned at 2pm today and had expected to be arrested. He was later told the appointment had been postponed. “It is now 10am at Dang Wangi,” he said in a text message, Malaysiakini reported.
Khairuddin, a former vice-chairman of Batu Kawan Umno, and Chang were barred from leaving the country last week, reportedly on a flight to New York to hand over documents to the US Federal Bureau of Investigations.
He was arrested for questioning on alleged activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy, relating to an alleged plot to topple Najib, and spent six days in custody. On his release, he was arrested on a security charge which allows for detention without trial for 28 days.
Khairuddin has been a vocal critic of the prime minister and 1Malaysia Development Bhd and Najib has come under yearlong pressure from Dr Mahathir in a campaign to force him out of office.
