Syed Ali Alhabshee says pitting the PM against his deputy via “clueless observations” is nonsensical and downright dumb.
PETALING JAYA: The attempt by political analyst Shahbudin Husin to cause a rift between Prime Minister Najib Razak and his deputy Zahid Hamidi has been slammed by Syed Ali Alhabshee who described it as “totally unbecoming”.
In his latest blog entry, the Cheras Umno chief mocked Shahbudin’s observations as being “clueless” and wondered out loud if he was indeed “qualified to be a political analyst” to begin with.
He was referring to Shahbudin’s latest claims that Zahid was impatient to become the next prime minister considering how his many supporters defended him when he came under attack.
“And in his own skewed manner, Shahbudin concludes these swift responses to show support for the DPM amounts to veiled efforts to make him the Prime Minister quickly,” Syed Ali said, adding that it was “nothing new or special” that every political leader had their fair share of loyalists including jailed former Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim.
Syed Ali also remarked how “nonsensical and downright dumb” it was for Shahbudin to pit one against the other and added, “Umno is strongly behind YAB DS Najib. There are a handful of leaders who have been voicing their grievances against the Prime Minister. But it only goes to show that we allow for dissenting voices in the party.”
In a parting shot, he snidely advised Shahbudin to train his sights on other issues instead.
