JOHOR BARU - The 53-year-old woman, who created a stir when a controversial video of her allegedly hurling racially-tinged remarks against DAP by calling the party “babi” (pig), had lodged a police report on the matter recently.
It was learnt that the police report, lodged on Sept 19, was to deny that she had uttered racist remarks during the red shirt Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu rally in Kuala Lumpur on Sept 16.
Since then, a photo of her standing in front of a police station after lodging a report has been making its rounds, especially on Facebook.
The woman, identified as Ashikin Yunus, is from Pasir Gudang in Johor. She was a participant of the rally and a video of her allegedly condemning DAP was widely circulated.
She had also warned DAP party supremo Lim Kit Siang and Bersih organisers to respect Malays.
In the 57-second video, the woman had, among other things, said “You need to understand, this is our land, orang Melayu punya!”.
Seri Alam police chief Superintendent Abdul Samad Salleh confirmed that the woman had lodged a report at the Pasir Gudang police station on the matter.
“The report was lodged on Saturday and it has since been referred to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur for further action as it is under their jurisdiction,” he told The Rakyat Post today.

A check showed that some of her critics had also taken to the woman’s Facebook page (Shequeen Han Younose) where they condemned her for being racist in nature.
However, the woman had also engaged most of her critics by denying that she was a racist and stood by her controversial statements.
Efforts by The Rakyat Post to contact the woman through her Facebook page have been futile.
The controversial video has triggered criticisms from various quarters as it was seen as racially provocative in nature.
On Friday, Johor DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) lodged a police report at the Seri Alam district police headquarters condemning the racial and provocative statement, which they said threatened racial harmony.
Prior to that, shortly before Malaysia Day on Sept 16, the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, in a Facebook posting, declared that he would not tolerate hate and racism in the state. - Therakyatpost
