The Religious Primary School Assessment Test (PSRA) for primary religious schools in the federal territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed following the Education Ministry ordering the closure of all schools in the two territories tomorrow due to the haze.
Jawi deputy director (operations), Yaakob Abdul Rahim said in view of the development, the syafawi PSRA (oral test) would be held on Oct 1 and 2 while the PSRA and UPKK written tests from Oct 5-8.
He said schools would be reopened on Tuesday (Sept 29), subject to the Air Pollutant Index (API) reading and security directives from time to time.
He said the closure was in line with the decision of the Education Ministry (KPM) and the obligation of the government administration in the federal territories towards the safety and health of students, teachers and school management.
The Education Ministry in a statement earlier today said all schools in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, and Tanjung Malim in Perak, as well as Sri Aman, Kuching and Samarahan in Sarawak were ordered closed tomorrow following the worsening API readings.
The statement said continuous monitoring nationwide found several states and divisions recorded very unhealthy API (201-300) and unhealthy API (101-200).
