PETALING JAYA: Confusion now reigns as to which Opposition coalition is governing Selangor, Pakatan Rakyat or the new Pakatan Harapan, as the latter does not include PAS, said Gerakan Youth, who wants a clear explanation on the matter immediately.
In a statement today, its chief Tan Keng Liang said, “Both PKR and DAP must explain PAS’s presence in the Selangor government.”
He made this statement after an announcement today by PKR President Wan Azizah Wan Ismail that her party, DAP and the new Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) had decided to form a new opposition coalition named Pakatan Harapan.
“However, PAS is not part of the new coalition of ‘Pakatan Harapan’,” Tan said, adding that the Selangor state exco currently had three PAS state assemblyman although the Islamist party was not a member of the new coalition.
“As such, Gerakan Youth urge PKR & DAP to clarify whether Selangor is now governed by the newly formed Pakatan Harapan.
“Or is there a separate coalition formed with PAS solely for the purpose of maintaining their power and lucrative positions in the Selangor government?”
