She swears that she will continue to speak the truth for Allah and her fellow human beings.
KUALA LUMPUR: Sacked Wanita Umno Langkawi member Anina Saadudin has pledged in a Facebook posting that she’s all for the truth, not that brought by just her party, but also the Opposition. There’s a need when it comes to the truth, she added, to work across the political divide, as in the US Congress for example. “I support the party based on its founding principles. I will not support leaders who bring problems to the party and the people.”
She swore that she will continue to speak the truth for Allah and her fellow human beings.
“I love the party and the nation more than many leaders,” she stressed. “If the truth is brought by the Opposition, I cannot reject it just because I am in the Barisan Nasional (BN). In principle, I disagree with the Opposition most of the time. I am not an Opposition person.”
Anina, implying that she’s not for the thinking that the political struggle should be all about “my party right or wrong”, reiterated that she was in fact dedicated to the founding principles of Umno i.e. solidarity, the prosperity of the people in peace and harmony and the development of the nation.
The question, she continued, is “ultimately, who are we accountable to”. “Allah owns my soul,” she cried. “”I am ultimately accountable to Him.”
She reckons that others will be on board with her as well on the search for the truth given that “we are not living in the jahilyah (in Mecca) age – lack of religious knowledge – but the age of knowledge unhindered by distance and time”. Already, noted Anina, the illiteracy rate is at almost zero in Malaysia and there are graduates left and right wherever one turns. “There are those who were not fortunate enough to get a higher education but still they can at least read and write,” she pointed out.
In fact, she said, through mixing around and the experience gathered in life, the people of Malaysia have become wise and mature. “They know how to distinguish between truth and falsehoods.”
She conceded that the people are divided along political beliefs and further divided by religion, ethnicity and origin, but even so they would not be in cahoots with anyone in a conspiracy of evil. “The people place greater emphasis on the truth. They are not all about taking a narrow-minded approach and maintaining the status quo along party lines oblivious to the truth,” she summed up.
