Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee has urged for all parties to stop questioning the decision by attorney-general (AG) Mohamed Apandi Ali to clear the prime minister of any wrongdoing in the RM2.6 billion and SRC affairs.
"Questioning the AG's decision with regards to the RM2.6 billion donation and SRC funds is unethical and goes against decorum.
“This includes any words that besmirch our leaders which are not supposed to be uttered in a cultured country well-known for its good manners," he said in a Cheras Umno blog post today.
Syed Ali said it was worrying that a trend was spreading which saw slander and disrespect of national institutions and the rakyat questioning proper decisions.
Referring to Apandi's assertion that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had returned RM2.08 billion donated by the the Saudi royal family, Syed Ali asked all to accept the AG's findings that no element of abuse or graft existed.
He said the MACC investigation papers into the matter had been thoroughly scrutinised by Apandi who then followed all proper steps and procedures before he cleared the PM.
Syed Ali said that Malaysians were lucky to have Najib as PM as the premier was always thinking about the future of the country and its people, pointing to the recent budget adjustments as proof.
He called those who continued to disrespect Najib as 'ungrateful', telling them that it was not the time to find fault with the government but to come together to show their unity. -Mkini
