Azmin: Selangor already probing alleged bankrupt Yawas GM

The Selangor government is aware that an alleged bankrupt is heading a state welfare foundation, and is already investigating the matter, said Menteri Besar Mohd Azmin Ali.
He said the matter had came to light two months ago, long before it was raised by Sungai Besar Umno chairperson Jamal Md Yunos.
“When the state government received the information, the relevant party had been called to give an explanation.
“This was not because of Jamal. Jamal (had only raised the matter) last week. We did the investigation two months ago,” he told Malaysiakini when met after a press conference in Rawang today.
He added that the investigation is still ongoing, in order to determine the cause of the problem.
Jamal had alleged on Feb 28 that Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (Yawas) general manager Kamsani Nasir is a bankrupt, and demanded Azmin to explain the matter.

Kamsani was appointed as general manager on Sept 1 last year, having previously helmed the state’s Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) as its CEO. Azmin is Yamas’ board of trustees chairperson.
A check by Malaysiakini on the Department of Insolvency’s database discovered an individual named Kamsani Nasir, who was declared bankrupt since 2008.
Kamsani had told Malaysiakini two days ago that he is unable to respond to Jamal’s allegations, as he is still mulling his legal options.- Mkini
