Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has warned the North Korean embassy that it will have to pay a heavy price if it keeps lambasting Malaysia.
"If the rebukes keep coming from the relevant embassy, they will pay a heavy price.
"As an embassy, they know where their script is coming from," Ahmad Zahid said at a press conference after officiating the Felda Youth Council annual general meeeting in Kuala Lumpur today.
The Pyongyang embassy must also respect the legal system, ethics and culture of Malaysia, as well as the international diplomatic system, Zahid said.
Though Malaysia and North Korea have previously enjoyed warm ties, the diplomatic relationship has soured since the assassination in Malaysia of a man believed to be Kim Jong-nam, the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
