PM cites government's many projects including Pan Borneo Highway and recent Petronas-Saudi Aramco deal as proof country is flourishing.

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Najib Razak has refuted the opposition’s claim that Malaysia is a failed state by citing the many basic and mega projects as well partnerships undertaken to enhance the welfare of the people.
According to the Borneo Post, Najib said this at the launch of the Taman Batu Sapi People’s Housing Project in Sandakan.
Besides the Batu Sapi housing project, Najib cited many other mega projects in the state including the Pan Borneo Highway, and reminded the people that these would not have been possible if the opposition’s claims were true.
The Borneo Post also quoted Najib as saying the government was adamant that Sabah’s development would be on par with that of the other states in the peninsula although the process could not take place overnight.
“I see Sabah as a state that has huge potential.
“I want the Land Below The Wind to attain a higher status, success and development and the people more prosperous in future,” he said, advising the people against falling under the influence of the opposition’s misleading statements.
He argued that if the opposition was right, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, would not have chosen Malaysia as the first destination of his state visits to several Asian countries.
He also cited the Saudi Aramco partnership with Petronas in the Rapid project in Pengerang, Johor as further proof that Malaysia was flourishing.
Also at the event were Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman and deputy chief ministers Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Raymond Tan Shu Kiah. Federal Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Noh Omar was also present at the event. -FMT
