PAS pours cold water over Muhyiddin's claim of warmer ties

In a new twist, PAS has poured cold water over Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Muhyiddin Yassin's claims that the relationship between them and the Islamist party was getting warmer.
PAS deputy spiritual adviser Ahmad Yakob had denied that they had agreed to negotiate seat allocations for the general election with Bersatu, reported Utusan Online today.
"No, we have not received any information for now that PAS has invited Bersatu for seat allocations.
"We have only given each other the space to stand on the same stage to talk about our own fights," Ahmad reportedly said to reporters in Ketereh, Kelantan today.

He also stressed that the decision to allocate seats for the elections was the absolute right of each PAS state commissioner.
Muhyiddin had yesterday said that ties between PAS and Bersatu were becoming warmer.
He also said that after many attempts to forge ties, PAS had finally invited his party to discuss seat negotiations.
"This is the way forward," he had said then.- Mkini
