The Perak state government has never marginalised or treated opposition assemblypersons unfairly in the giving of allocations.
State Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairperson Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid said the state government gave an allocation of RM4,000 monthly to all elected representatives, whether from the government or opposition side.
He said the allocation was for the use of the elected representatives’ service centre including paying staff allowance and utility bills to enable them to give the best service to the people.
“Regardless, all state assemblypersons receive an allocation every month in line with the state government’s motto of none is left out, none is marginalised,” he said in reply to a supplementary question from Chen Fook Chye (DAP-Keranji) at the state assembly sitting in Ipoh today.
Mohamad Zahir also said that the state government appointed the district offices and local authorities in every district to manage the receipt of allocations and to identify development projects in their respective areas.
