It is learnt that both suspects, in their 40s, allegedly abused their positions by giving a project worth RM25,000 to a company belonging to a sibling of one of the suspects.
The project involved supply work for a project at the public university’s campus here.
The suspects were detained at the campus at around 2pm on Sunday (Jan 27).
They were being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009, which carries a fine of five times the amount or RM10,000 or whichever is higher and imprisonment not more than 20 years upon conviction.
When contacted Monday (Jan 28), Johor MACC director Datuk Azmi Alias confirmed the case.
