SHOCK ATTACK: MARIA CHIN’S SON STABBED BY UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS ON MOTOBIKE

KUALA LUMPUR – The eldest son of Petaling Jaya member of parliament Maria Chin Abdullah was stabbed while jogging at Taman Bukit Mayang Emas here today.
In a statement, Chin said her son was attacked by two unknown men, who fled the scene after a motorcyclist approached them.
“Two men attacked him. Saved when a motorbike approached them.
“It is a robbery but didn’t don’t have enough time to take anything from him but stabbed him before the motorbike came along,” she said.

Chin said she was unsure of the exact location where the attack took place as she was attending a function at the time.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya district deputy police chief Superintendent Ku Mashriman Ku Mahmood said police are investigating the incident.
“Initial investigations showed that the incident happened at about 6pm today while the victim was jogging around the Taman Bukit Mayang Emas neighbourhood.
“The victim was stabbed in the right side of his abdomen by a man. We are still investigating the motive of the attack,” he told Berita Harian when contacted today.
He added that the victim is receiving treatment at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre and is reported to be in stable condition. — NST

Maria Chin’s son out of danger

The eldest son of Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah, who underwent a surgery yesterday following a robbery assault, is out of danger.
“He is out of danger. Surgery went well and he is now under observation,” said Maria in a group text message.
“What a relief! Thank you for your concern. Much appreciated,” she said.
The incident occurred at a park in Taman Mayang Emas when her son was out on a walk yesterday.
“He was having his evening walk and the guy came from the back. Pushed him down and slashed his arms before he stabbed him.
“Luckily a motorbike passed by and the robber ran off. My boys and I are traumatised,” Maria told Malaysiakini yesterday.
Bernama quoted Petaling Jaya deputy OCPD Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood as saying that the 26-year-old victim was stabbed on the right side of his stomach. – mkini
