Unhappiness at Negeri MB an internal party affair, say PKR reps

The issue of PKR grassroots losing faith in Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun as the state PKR chief is an internal party affair, said four PKR assemblypersons from the state.

The four PKR lawmakers issued the clarification after a public statement by party grassroots against Aminuddin (above) yesterday raised concerns that it could also undermine the stability of the Pakatan Harapan-led Negeri Sembilan state government.

This was because the signatory of yesterday's statement included the four assemblypersons, namely Ismail Ahmad (Labu), M Ravi (Sri Tanjung), Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek (Ampangan), and Michael Yek Diew Ching (Chuah).

However, Yek had since denied involvement and stressed that the matter should be resolved internally.

The four assemblypersons, in a new statement today, sought PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's intervention.

"We take note that many PKR supporters are dissatisfied with Aminuddin's performance as the Negeri Sembilan PKR chief. This is an internal party issue.

"We support Anwar as the PKR president and have full confidence in Anwar's wisdom to resolve this problem," they said.

Earlier today, Chennah assemblyperson Anthony Loke, who is from DAP, said he had received queries about the fate of the Negeri Sembilan government after the move made by the PKR grassroots.

Loke, who is also the Negeri Sembilan DAP chief, stressed that the issue was PKR's internal affairs and aimed at Aminuddin in his capacity as the state PKR chief and not the menteri besar.

Pakatan Harapan has 20 assemblypersons in the 36-member state assembly.

They comprised 11 DAP, six PKR and three Amanah representatives. - Mkini
