PETALING JAYA: More than 800,000 senior citizens in the country have yet to get their Covid-19 booster vaccine jabs, says health minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
In a Twitter post, Khairy warned that most of the Covid-19 deaths being reported now involve senior citizens who did not get their booster doses.
He reiterated his call on people to ensure their elderly loved ones got their booster jabs since they were high-risk, with the nation now in the transition-to-endemic phase.
“For everyone else, stay safe and vigilant during this transition phase. Masking properly, especially indoors, with good ventilation will be crucial in us managing Covid-19,” he said.
According to the CovidNow website, some 522 Covid-19 deaths have been reported over the past two weeks.
This included the 30 deaths reported yesterday, of which 11 were classified as brought-in-dead cases, with the death toll standing at 35,099. - FMT
