Saravanan denies ministry linked to recruitment portal

The Human Resources Minister M Saravanan has today denied any links to the domestic worker recruitment portal featuring its logo and has vowed to investigate MyOCS.com.my.

“We have not appointed 3S Malaysia and I don’t know who they are.

“So far, we have only confirmed that we will use a one-channel system which will be integrated with the existing internal portal.

“The MyOCS website is not part of the ministry,” he confirmed.

The minister also confirmed that the entire recruitment through the one-channel system would be linked to the Foreign Worker Centralised Management System (FWCMS) that was provided by Bestinet Sdn Bhd.

When informed that members from 3S Malaysia Sdn Bhd had also held briefings with the private employment agencies over the system flow, Saravanan reiterated his denial of knowing the company.

Migrant worker applications

Saravanan was speaking to Malaysiakini following a press conference held at the HRD Corp to announce that 24,560 migrant worker applications were expected to complete the interview stage by April 27 while another 154,891 were pending approval.

Also present at the press conference was Labour Department director-general Asri Rahman who also promised to “look into the MyOCS portal”.

On March 3, Malaysiakini reported information from a source that the 3sMalaysia.com would replace the FWCMS system in the recruitment of domestic workers to Malaysia. - Mkini

By March 15, four associations representing government-registered private employment agencies claimed during a press conference that the process flow featured undue risks that they were not willing to take.

The leaders of these four associations were among those who attended a briefing conducted by 3S Malaysia on March 2, which was organised by the Labour Department.

Just last month, MyOCS.com.my was known as 3sMalaysia.com.

Following a report on the portal published in Malaysiakini on March 3, the portal became inaccessible for reasons unknown, but renewed attempts to access 3sMalaysia.com on April 1 were redirected to MyOCS.com.my.
