Comedian-turned-politician Afdlin Shauki has been appointed as the chairperson of the Federal Territories Foundation's (YWP) media arm.
With his new post, the PKR member also announced plans for a portal focusing on "positive" news.
"Wait for the arrival of a portal filled with exciting and positive news.
"Enough with news that is negative and hurtful. We will give information, inspiration, and hope to the people of the Federal Territories," he said in a Facebook post today.
YWP Media Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of YWP and is the publisher of the regional newspaper and portal Wilayahku.
It is unclear if Afdlin - who was seen photographed with copies of Wilayahku - plans to set up a new portal or revamp the existing news outlet.
YWP was previously chaired by the federal territories minister - a post that is now defunct after the ministry was turned into a department parked under the Prime Minister's Department.
The current YWP chairperson is Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim - who is also the PKR president. - Mkini
