Get your son to quit Umno first, Annuar told

 

Former Ketereh Umno chief Annuar Musa, who has joined PAS, has been challenged to convince his son Afiq Amani to also leave Umno.

PETALING JAYA: Annuar Musa has been challenged to convince his son to leave the party and join PAS, after Annuar had urged Umno members to switch sides.

Kelantan Umno information chief Zawawi Othman said that if Annuar could not convince his own son to leave the party, he had no business urging others to do so.

Annuar’s son Afiq Amani is the Umno Youth divisional head in Ketereh, the division that Annuar formerly headed.

“This (Annuar convincing his son to leave Umno) should be an important condition to show his sincerity,” he said, according to Berita Harian.

Zawawi suggested that perhaps Annuar wishes to join PAS in order to obtain a seat in the state assembly in view of the upcoming elections.

FMT reported earlier today that Annuar had confirmed submitting his application to join PAS last month. The former Umno veteran also said he would convince 1,000 Umno members to quit the party to join PAS.

Last Thursday, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said Annuar and at least 10 other former Umno leaders were expected to join PAS soon, and might be fielded as PN candidates at the coming state elections.

Annuar said today he would leave all decisions to the PAS leadership. - FMT
