JPA acting on ‘ignored’ misconduct reports, says Zuki

Chief Secretary to the Government Zuki Ali said several cases were being investigated by a special committee in the public services department.

PUTRAJAYA: The public services department (JPA) is taking action on over 500 reports of misconduct filed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) which were ignored by government agencies, said Chief Secretary to the Government Zuki Ali.

“There are several cases being investigated by a special committee in JPA tasked with looking into these reports,” he told reporters at the Prime Minister’s Department’s Aidilfitri open house.

Last week, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said some government agencies had ignored more than 500 reports on staff misconduct even though MACC had recommended that action be taken.

Azam said several of these reports were lodged more than a decade ago.

Zuki said disciplinary action had been taken based on several MACC reports while the anti-graft agency would act on cases involving corruption. - FMT
