Labour Day celebration kickstarts in Putrajaya

 

PUTRAJAYA: Close to 3,000 workers from government and private sectors, ministries as well as unions have gathered at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre for the national level Labour Day celebration.

It is the first time the celebration is being held after the global Covid-19 pandemic. The last was in 2019.

Themed "Pekerja Pemangkin Wadah Malaysia Madani", there was also live music as well as traditional and cultural performances.

There are 77 contingents such as the Fire and Rescue Department, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, the Road Transport Department, Pos Malaysia, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad and Congress of Unions of Employees in Public and Civil Services.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to arrive at 11am.

Human Resource minister V. Sivakumar will also be present. - NST
