The ministry said students who opt to wear their regular school uniform will not be required to wear ties.
“Schools are requested to monitor weather conditions to ensure that immediate action can be taken to guarantee the welfare, health and safety of students, teachers and other staff,” it said in a statement.

Deputy education director-general Ahmad Rafee Che Kassim said if schools were to be closed, replacement days would be suggested by the state education directors.
