Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has welcomed renowned British rock band Coldplay, which will be holding its first-ever concert in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 22.
"Welcome to Kuala Lumpur!" the premier wrote briefly on Twitter this morning while sharing a poster of the band's official announcement on its global tour.
According to the poster, the Bukit Jalil National Stadium will be the band's last stop in its "Music of the Spheres World Tour" after Tokyo, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Australia - in that particular order.
Five years ago, Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah vowed to bring another British rock outfit, Radiohead to perform in Malaysia.
Netizens then urged the former Permatang Pauh MP to also bring Coldplay for a concert.
Tickets for the KL concert will go on sale beginning May 17. However, the prices are yet to be announced.
“Music of the Spheres” was the ninth studio album by Coldplay, released on October 15, 2021.
It features guest appearances from Selena Gomez, We Are King, Jacob Collier, and BTS, as well as returning contributions from electronic producer Jon Hopkins. - Mkini
