Kuala Kubu Bahru candidate Siva, 40, who grew up in a poor family in Cheras, aims to fight for education rights for the people. He is also the party’s Selangor deputy chairperson.

The state seat incumbent is DAP’s two-term state assemblyperson Lee Kee Hiong.

In Seri Setia, Chew is Muda human rights bureau chief and Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network executive coordinator.

The 33-year-old Petaling Jaya-born is also the secretary of the Liga Rakyat Demokratik movement.

The incumbent in the seat he is contesting is Shaharuddin Badaruddin from PKR.

Meanwhile, Muda’s Sungai Kandis candidate Afriena is the treasurer for the party’s Selangor chapter.

The 26-year-old has expressed determination to improve the community’s economy in Sungai Kandis.

The incumbent for Sungai Kandis is PKR’s Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni.

Over in the northern state of Penang, Loh, who will be contesting in the PKR stronghold in Pantai Jerejak, is Muda’s youth education bureau chief in the state.

The 27-year-old is a tuition teacher in a school based in Italy and holds her teaching sessions online.

The incumbent for the Pantai Jerejak seat is Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Meanwhile, Luqman, 29, is the Muda’s information chief and is so far the party’s only candidate fielded to contest in a PAS-held seat.

Ahmad Shah Muhamed is the incumbent for the Bandar state constituency.

As of today, Muda has announced 10 candidates to be fielded in three different states.

Last week, the party announced its first batch of candidates for the state elections in Selangor, led by party secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi.

The candidates are Amir for Sri Serdang, Saiyidah Izzati Nur Razak Maideen (Batu Tiga), Thanusha Ramanieswaran (Sentosa), and Melanie Ting (Bukit Antarabangsa). - Mkini
