Fuziah’s aide to lodge report over grocery shopping video

PETALING JAYA: An aide to deputy domestic trade and cost of living minister Fuziah Salleh will be filing a police report over a republished video of her “grocery shopping”.

In the video originally posted in July, Fuziah shopped for cooking oil, rice, biscuits, instant noodles, canned sardines and onions, among others, at a supermarket at a cost of RM136.30.

“Who said RM200 isn’t enough and that (people) need RM500 (to buy groceries?)” she had said in the video.

However, the video made its rounds again after it was reposted on social media, leading to criticism against her.

Fuziah’s special officer will lodge a report at the Kuantan district police headquarters at 4pm today, claiming the reposting of the video was aimed at humiliating the deputy minister.

Earlier today, Berita Harian quoted Fuziah as saying she suspected the video was republished with political motives.

She said the video was recorded in early July at a time when people were questioning whether RM200 was sufficient to purchase basic necessities.

“My statement in the video referred to the situation at the time,” she said. - FMT
