Its Kelantan director, Azman Ismail, said the seizure, valued at RM53,000, was carried out by personnel from the Pasir Mas branch at about 4pm.
“A man who claimed to be the owner of the premises was also questioned, but failed to provide any valid documents regarding the ownership of the controlled items,” he said in a statement today.
Azman said they also seized a lorry after finding several individuals unloading controlled goods at the premises.
“Upon inspection of the lorry, more than 1.8 tonnes of sugar was discovered, which was supposed to be delivered in Pasir Mas but had been diverted to the location without authorisation.
“All the controlled goods were seized, and the lorry was impounded for investigation under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961,” he said. - FMT
